ER002

ossibili.

Elefante Rosso's second release is ready to hit the road on the very first days of 2009, After Paul Randolph's Collide with Isoul8 Remix, now it's Tommaso Cappellato's turn to deliver the groove for the upcoming year. Taken from his "Half&Half" Quartet
(Tommaso Cappellato /drums - Michael Blake /saxophone - Giovanni Guidi /piano - Joe Rehmer /bass) The Knight is filled by a absolute lightness and simplicity, though its execution grows around a very powerful afro beat and a straight to the heart theme. Compiled together with a re-edit by Ra.H (Morphine Records - Elefante Rosso) who tried to maintain the same pureness and freshness of the composition itself, with a building groove that carries the elements of the jazz composition into a hypnotic and fascinating voyage.

"An American Sound Artist & Composer having recorded for a variety of labels (including Sony Europe - Axis/6277- Ghostly/Spectral - Creme - PlayHouse/Klang Elektronik and Mathematics Recordings - SameSoulDifferentbodyImprint), and as a Former Member of The Dirty Criminals (International Deejay Gigolo Records) Voted URB Magazines Top 100 in 2004 as a Group , Jamal Moss has long been a part of the Chicago house/techno scene as both a Promoter/Producer and DJ. Moss’s first creative endeavors were as part of a crew that created industrial soundscapes / Art Noise for the Liquid Summer parties at the famed Powerplant in Chicago from 1989-90. When the Powerplant was closed, Moss and his cohorts started Liquid Sex, which became a magnet for many well-known house artists such as Steve Poindexter, who put Moss in touch with future collaborators the Chicago Bad Boys collective. From the Fall of 1993 - to the Summer of 1996 was Host/DJ for WNUR'S 89.3 StreetBeat Program Showcasing a segment named JACK-FM( Thank U Shaun Fahey ). He was also taken under the wing of house legend Adonis, who became a key mentor figure in Moss’s life and an inspiration for his moniker: "I decided to give myself meaning and purpose, to honor my father (who gave me life) and my mentor Adonis (who gave me knowledge); I named myself Hieroglyphic Being ( Performed Live at 2004 DEMF'S Underground Stage / A Featured Artists In Germany's DE:BUG Magazine issue 92 in 2005 / Voted URB Magazines Top 100 in 2005 & has Composed Works Featured On Time Out Magazines The Other side of Paris DVD Guide Along with Bauhaus/Front 242/Black Strobe & Composed works for a Tribute to Robert Moog Benefit Compilation & a Featured Artist in Xlr8tr's 100 Aniversary issue aug 2006 & has done Analog Composition Covers & Analog Editing For Alexander Robotnick - Miles Davis - Sun Ra in 2007 & 2008 ).” And the last of the line of producers directly influenced by Ron Hardy at the Music Box, which he is uniquely qualified to write a new chapter of Chicago's Rich Musical history."

Check the Bathroom Sessions Select 12" on Morphine Records. Hieroglyphic Being delivered certainly one of Morphine's hardest points and had the stable role to preserve the original idea behind the label. Jamal have contributed into the label's philosophy survival keepin it safe from harm and from fake euro deep (not that deep) scene...

SHAKE...!!!!

Detroit producer Anthony "Shake" Shakir is one of the more underrecognized, underappreciated names in American techno. A bedroom producer since 1981, Shake had an important role in helping shape the early Motor City sound associated with artists such as Juan Atkins / Model 500 and Derrick May. He worked with May and Carl Craig as a producer, writer, or engineer on several early tracks on Metroplex, and worked in management and A&R for the label (as well, he's often joked, as being the janitor) during its formative years. His first solo material appeared on Virgin's seminal Techno! The New Dance Sound Of Detroit compilation with 'Sequence 10'. Known as something of a techno purist, Shake has distanced himself from the European scene many of his colleagues have turned to for support (this accounts somewhat for his continuing obscurity), and his music is stylistically closer to second wave artists such as "Mad Mike" Banks and Claude Young — hard, stripped-down tracks which owe equally to techno, electro, hip-hop, and funk. Shake's visibility and reputation have risen in more recent years as a result of his Frictional and Puzzlebox labels, the latter of which he formed in 1996 with fellow Detroit electro / techno producer Keith Tucker (formerly of Aux 88). Releasing a series of records both solo and in combination (usually under the name Da Sampla), Shake and Tucker's Puzzlebox Records has, along with Underground Resistance and Guidance Recordings, become one of the more coveted sources of straight-up, no-bones Detroit techno.
